What is Weight Loss Coaching?

What you can expect to cover during your weight loss coaching?  Throughout the coaching we will be identifying potential issues and creating strategies to help you build healthy eating habits that you can continue for life!

1.      Why do you want to lose weight?

First, we will ascertain why you have this goal – what difference will it make to you to be successful?  You increase the likelihood of succeeding if you are clearly focussed and picturing your slim self will provide you with the motivation to keep going.

We will also look at what it will mean to you if you don’t take action to achieve your goal.  What will it cost you in the long term if you stay as you are?

This session will include setting a clear, specific goal for your weight loss journey.

2.      Start right here, right now!

You will need a measure of your starting point so that when you succeed, you will know just how far you have come.  This could be your weight, your measurements or both.

You will choose your own healthy eating plan.

We will then look at the mindset that will be most helpful to you in order to make losing weight as easy and as natural as possible.

3.      What do you see in the mirror?

If you tend to look for all the things that you don’t like about yourself, then we need to switch this over to all the great things that are looking back at you from that mirror!  My concept of weight loss is that we are working to release the slim person within, so let’s start looking for that person!  If you feel good about yourself then it is easier to care for yourself.

4.      Think like a slim person!

We will look at ways that you can make it your mission to find out as much as you can about how slim and healthy people stay that way.  What do they eat?  How do they make food choices?  How do they know when to eat and when to stop?  You will create a resource file to enable you to seek “slim” inspiration whenever you need it.

We will review your old eating habits, bring them into your conscious awareness and replace them with new eating patterns that will work more effectively for you.

5.      The Importance of Exercise

Not only will exercise help you to lose weight more quickly, it will increase your fitness, your overall health and improve your muscle tone, thus providing you with a sleek shape that cannot be achieved any other way.  Exercise will also help to reduce stress, improve the quality of sleep and its great fun too!

We will explore the many types of exercise to find one that you will enjoy and build time for it into your weekly routine!

6.      The Wheel of Life

How have the unhealthy eating habits that are preventing you from achieving your weight loss goal developed?  Why do you do what you do?  The Wheel of Life Exercise takes a snapshot of where you are with your life, what you are happy with and what you would like to change, with a view to uncovering the underlying cause of unhealthy eating behaviour and help you to create a more enjoyable way of life.

7.      Ways to Make you Feel Good!

Success will come to you much more easily if you are treating yourself as well as possible right now!  This includes the way you speak about yourself to others and the messages that you send to your own subconscious through your thoughts and actions.  We will explore what you currently do to make you feel good and identify the ways that you might be sabotaging yourself – then replace these with more useful patterns.


8.      Strategies for the long term.

It is entirely your choice how long you wish to continue with regular coaching.  The benefit of weekly coaching in the early stages is so that you remain focused on your goal, knowing that you will be accountable each week for your progress.  Your coach will applaud you on your success and, if you should falter, will help you to identify what went wrong and help you to overcome any roadblocks that you meet on the way.

When you feel that you are fully equipped to continue your journey to your target weight on your own, then you can reduce your sessions to monthly or just keep contact by email.

By creating strategies for the long term, you should feel strong and capable of handling whatever comes you way for the rest of your weight loss journey and the remainder of your life!
